What is an ACSP?
An Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP) is the new designation under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 for professionals who file information at Companies House on behalf of clients, including company formations, confirmation statements, and officer changes. To become an ACSP, the firm must be supervised for AML purposes by an approved supervisory authority (FCA, ICAEW, AAT, ACCA, etc.).
Why does this matter?
From October 2026, only registered ACSPs will be able to use the new Companies House online filing service for client filings. Firms not registered will revert to paper filing, which is significantly slower and more error-prone, and may affect client service quality.
Who needs to register?
Any accounting firm, tax adviser, or company formation agent that files at Companies House on behalf of clients and is supervised for AML purposes must register. Registration is via the Companies House ACSP portal using the firm's AML supervisor details.
Beacon & Ledger's status
